Prayer

Speaking with God Almighty, and hearing from him, is one of the most precious, and mysterious, gifts with which humans have been blessed. At Journey, you will notice an emphasis on praying…not long, wordy prayers…but a general spirit of trust in the power of prayer.

My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.

–Jesus

We pray for each other. We pray during the worship time. We pray in Journey Groups. And we will teach you to pray on your own.

Lord, teach us to pray.

The Bible teaches that prayer is something that can take place throughout the day.

Pray without ceasing.

–1 Thessalonians 5:17

Prayer is not about saying certain words, but developing a comfort to share your life and thoughts with the heavenly Father, and then listen for his response-most often heard through his words in the Bible—and sometimes through a small, still voice.

Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.

–1 Samuel 3:10

At Journey, you can write a prayer need and you can decide who sees it…staff and elders only, or prayer team or include your request in our weekly church-wide prayer list. No matter how public or private your prayer need, be assured that others will take your concern to the Father.

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

And here is our prayer for you:

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.
